The University of Buckingham

The University of Buckingham is the United Kingdom’s first independent not-for-profit medical school. The Medical School is in Buckingham and is fully accredited by the General Medical Council (GMC). The MB ChB program is designed with a strong emphasis on early clinical skills training and small-group learning, with pre-clinical and clinical phases structured throughout the course.

Program

The MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Chirurgery) is a 4.5-year program delivered through year-round study. They also offer Medical Sciences (Pre-Med), a nine-month program, and Psychology, a two-year, one-term program, as part of their medical degree courses. The pre-clinical phase covers foundational medical sciences, anatomy, and early clinical skills. Clinical training progresses through the later years of the program, with structured placements in affiliated hospitals and community settings.

The Admission Test

Admission to the University of Buckingham Medical School does not require the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) or BMAT. The university conducts its own admissions process, which includes an academic screening, Multiple Mini Assessment (MMA), and Multiple Mini Interview (MMI).

St. George’s University (SGU) — Grenada, with Clinical Training Options in the UK

St. George’s University (SGU) is a private medical university established in 1976. SGU offers a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree program and has graduated over 25,000 physicians since its founding.

The Program – Doctor of Medicine (MD)

SGU offers the Doctor of Medicine degree across multiple entry tracks designed to accommodate students with different academic backgrounds. The standard four-year MD program is available to students who hold an undergraduate qualification. For those entering with a high school diploma, SGU offers extended pathways of five, six, or seven years, which include an additional preclinical phase before the core four-year MD.

The preclinical phase is completed at the Grenada campus or, for eligible students, at the Northumbria University campus in the United Kingdom. The clinical phase of the program takes place at affiliated hospitals, with the majority of placements in the United States, and additional options in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the four-year MD program are required to hold a recognized undergraduate degree in the sciences. For the extended pathways, a recognized secondary school certificate in Biology, Chemistry, and related subjects is the standard entry requirement. St Mary’s University, London – Twickenham

St Mary’s University will open its new School of Medicine in September 2026, welcoming its first cohort of medical students. The School of Medicine is GMC-assured and is based in a purpose-built facility on the Twickenham campus.

Program

The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is a five-year undergraduate program. Clinical placements are incorporated from the first year of study, covering NHS GP, hospital, and community settings.

The Admission Test
